Position overview

The Data team at Stay22 is transforming raw data into actionable insights. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will develop and own end-to-end data pipelines and products, collaborating closely with data analysts, product managers, and software engineers. You will contribute to data governance and mentor junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

1. Design and implement efficient ETL/ELT pipelines for reliable, scalable data ingestion and transformation.
2. Build datasets and analytics layers across product areas for analysis and decision-making.
3. Analyze data flows to design optimized data models.
4. Optimize data pipelines for performance and scalability.
5. Integrate with third-party systems and APIs.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and deliver data solutions.
7. Implement data governance for quality, integrity, and security.
8. Maintain documentation for data pipelines and lineage.
9. Stay updated on industry trends and suggest improvements.
10. Mentor junior data engineers and promote best practices.

Requirements

1. B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
2. 5+ years in data engineering or similar role.
3. Proficiency in SQL and Python, experience with data warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery).
4. Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines with tools like Airflow or dbt.
5. Experience with cloud platforms (GCP) and data services.
6. Strong understanding of data warehousing, modeling, and architecture.
7. Ability to design solutions for complex data problems.
8. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
