Job summary

Kraft Heinz in Toronto is seeking a Senior Data Architect to lead domain data architecture and develop scalable data products. You will collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver robust data models and semantic layers that support BI and AI use cases.

The role emphasizes data warehouse expertise, cloud services experience, and coding with tools like ERWin/ER/Studio, dbt, and Python. Hybrid work arrangement applies, with three on-site days weekly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, engineering, or related field.
• Certifications in Data Management, Data Modelling and Cloud services is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience designing scalable data models.
• Strong background in data warehouse implementation.
• Experience with data modeling tools (ERWIN, ER/STUDIO).
• Translate business requirements into technical data solutions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product owners and data consumers to define data product needs.
• Design data models for source and master data products with schema and definitions.
• Build semantic models to support BI, AI, and analytics use cases.
• Review data model development and provide deployment approvals.
• Document architecture artifacts and participate in governance forums.

This position implements and maintains domain specific data architecture at Kraft Heinz, ensuring assigned data assets are properly organized, structured, and secured. Collaborate with teams to support seamless data accessibility while adhering to functional domain objectives.

What's on the menu?

• Works with Product owners, Business stewards, Business Intelligence Engineers, Data Scientists and end users to understand data consumers’ needs and develop data products/ data solutions within assigned domain.
• Assesses feasibility requirements and translates business requirements for specific domain.
• Partners with application owners to analyze and evaluate data sources, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and extraction requirements.
• Designs Data models for Source data products and Master data products including schema design, table definitions, and column specifications.
• Designs and implements semantic models following established standards, supporting BI reporting, AI applications, and conversational analytics use cases.
• Support Data Engineering and BI Engineering teams during the build phase
• Review Data models development, validate and provide deployment approval.
• Document Data Architecture artifacts for different Data Products and solutions and perform peer review across various functions.
• Contributes to standards and best practices documentation.
• Work closely with data stewards and governance functions to continuously improve data quality and enhance the reliability of data model(s).
• Participate in the peer review and quality assurance of project architectural artifacts across the Data Architecture group through governance forums
• Collaborate and contribute to the development and enhancement of standards, guidelines, and best practices within Data Architecture chapter.
• Design and develop data products / data solutions within the Global Operations function supporting analytical and decision intelligence use cases that leverage a large variety of data sources from internal and external systems

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, engineering, or related field
• Certifications in Data Management, Data Modelling and Cloud services is preferred
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in design and implementation of scalable, high-performance, and reusable data models that help in generating actionable insights.
• Strong background in data warehouse implementation.
• Experience in designing data models (Logical, Physical, Conceptual ERD) using data modeling tools (ERWIN, ER/STUDIO, etc.).
• Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions driving data architecture and Data Product design.
• Experience with enterprise-scale data engineering orchestration frameworks/ELT tools and common data engineering Python libraries (dbt, pandas, great expectations, etc.).
• Experience in designing semantic models for BI/AI data requirements
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies with experience working on tools such as Jira & Confluence.
• Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Growing understanding of business processes and functional understanding with an analytical background.
• CPG experience with knowledge in domain specific concepts is beneficial
• Ability to navigate and collaborate with cross-functional teams involving data scientists, business analysts, and stakeholders

New Hire Base Salary Range

$96,200.00 - $120,200.00

Bonus

This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.

The compensation offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors
