Position: Permanent, Full-Time (Hybrid)

The Ontario Pension Board (OPB) administers the Public Service Pension Plan (PSPP), a major defined benefit pension plan sponsored by the Government of Ontario. OPB seeks a Senior Data Analytics Lead to shape and execute data-driven strategies that enhance organizational decision-making. Reporting to the Executive Director, Actuarial Services and Data Analytics, this strategic policy advisor will leverage analytics to provide evidence-based insights supporting organizational objectives. The role requires strong technical skills and storytelling ability to translate complex data into compelling visual and written materials for senior audiences.

Key Responsibilities :
  1. Lead the design, development, and implementation of data analytics strategies and solutions to support decision-making.
  2. Investigate, gather, and integrate data from multiple sources; conduct in-depth analysis to identify trends and insights.
  3. Develop high-quality reports, presentations, and briefing materials to communicate insights to senior leadership.
  4. Create compelling visualizations, including dashboards and placemats, to form strategic narratives aligned with business goals.
  5. Build cross-functional partnerships to identify needs and develop data-driven solutions.
  6. Ensure data accuracy and integrity by adhering to best practices in analysis, reporting, and documentation.
  7. Stay updated on emerging trends, tools, technologies, and best practices in data analytics and business intelligence.
Key Qualifications :
  1. Proven experience in developing data-driven insights that enable strategic decisions.
  2. Post-secondary education in mathematics, statistics, data analysis, or equivalent experience.
  3. Advanced knowledge of data analysis, statistical methods, and data quality assurance.
  4. Proficiency with Excel, Power BI, Python, and Plateau.
  5. Strong analytical skills for interpreting complex data.
  6. Excellent communication and collaboration skills for engaging with senior stakeholders.
  7. Experience managing complex projects in multi-stakeholder environments.
  8. Sound judgment and decision-making abilities for managing sensitive issues.
  9. High attention to detail to ensure data credibility.
  10. Superior written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  11. Effective presentation and facilitation skills.
