Job description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform complex data analysis using PostgreSQL to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and insights.
2. Develop reports that are clear, intuitive, and consistent with established templates and formats.
3. Work closely with Kynetec commercial team regularly and clients directly (when required) to provide data-driven insights and recommendations.
4. Maintain open lines of communication with team members, providing updates on progress, challenges, and insights.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and ensure data integrity.
6. Adhere to data governance policies and ensure use of best practices for data security and accuracy.

Requirements Include:

1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis or a related field using PostgreSQL or any other relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, etc).
2. Extensive experience in writing complex queries, optimizing performance, and working with large datasets.
3. Understanding of statistical methods and data analysis techniques.
4. Proficient in using Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data visualization techniques.
5. Ability to tackle open-ended requests, formulating questions, and deriving actionable insights from data.
6. Detail-oriented in data analysis to ensure accuracy and reliability of findings.
7. Strong verbal and written communication skills for documenting and explaining complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
8. Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
10. Experience with Source Control (Git).
11. Experience with collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Trello, Slack, Azure DevOps, Confluence).
12. Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related field or equivalent experience.
13. Able to work full-time, remote – US and Canada based.

Role Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst with at least five years of PostgreSQL or any other relational database experience to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing complex datasets and delivering key insights to support strategic decision-making. This role will focus on Kynetec’s Animal Health flagship product, PetTrak - a transactional dataset for millions of pets worldwide.

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset and a passion for turning data into actionable insights. The candidate should have experience with or a willingness to quickly learn the animal health and nutrition business. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders are critical for success in this position.
