Legacy DesignTech Inc. is seeking a Senior Damage Prevention Technician to establish and grow the new Locates & Damage Prevention division in Calgary. You will perform field locates and help shape processes, standards, and training as the department matures.

The role emphasizes mentoring, leadership, and collaboration with engineering, design, and field teams to deliver safe, accurate locating services across Western Canada.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of utility locating and/or damage prevention experience.
• Completion of a recognized Utility Locator Training Program or equivalent.
• Strong working knowledge of underground utility infrastructure and damage-prevention practices.
• Experience locating multiple utility types: power, telecommunications, gas, water, and sewer.
• Ability to interpret utility records, mapping, engineering drawings, and construction documentation.
• Valid Class 5 driver's licence and ability to travel throughout Calgary and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely underground utility locates in Calgary and surrounding areas.
• Help establish the Locates & Damage Prevention program, including procedures and standards.
• Provide technical recommendations on locating equipment, field tech, and reporting systems.
• Complete locates involving power, telecommunications, gas, water, sewer and other underground infrastructure.
• Interpret records, drawings, maps, and as-builts to support locating.
• Identify and troubleshoot complex locate information and determine next steps.
• Maintain field records, sketches, photos, and reports with documentation.
