WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
The Senior Cybersecurity Specialist is responsible for supporting and implementing corporate cybersecurity governance, operations, audit compliance, policies, and education.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Work with external vendors and internal staff to ensure cybersecurity operations effectively protect the company from all relevant risks.
- Provide advice and hands-on operational guidance to company leadership and internal and outsourced teams on all cybersecurity matters and initiatives.
- Implement a cybersecurity roadmap that addresses evolving threats and ensures compliance with privacy laws and regulations.
- Support user awareness, training, and enforcement of cybersecurity policies.
- Responsible for deployment, administration, and support of security tools, system access controls, incident response, and disaster recovery to minimize breaches and ensure data protection.
- Support audits, compliance efforts, and vulnerability assessments to identify and remediate risks, working closely with internal and external teams and auditors.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, MIS, or related field or equivalent.
- Master’s Degree, MBA, or advanced degree in cybersecurity/technology preferred but not required.
- 6+ years of technical hands-on experience in cybersecurity technologies and compliance and risk management, with a system and network security engineering background.
- Experience administering firewalls (preferably Palo Alto and Fortinet), XDR, SIEM systems, threat intelligence platforms, SOAR solutions, IDS/IPS, Vulnerability Management, DLP, MFA, PAM, Active Directory (AD) Audit, Azure security, Phishing Tests and Awareness, and other network and system monitoring tools.
- Experience with standards like CIS, NIST, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, HIPAA, HITECH, SOX, GDPR, or SOC 2.
- Hands-on experience analyzing logs, network data, and attack artifacts for incident investigations.
- Understanding of Project Management methodologies.
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, telecommunications, servers, data centers, and IT services.
- Advanced understanding of TCP/IP, protocols, traffic flow, system administration, OSI model, defense-in-depth, and security elements.
- Fluency in French and Portuguese is a plus.
- CISSP (Required); CISM (Preferred); SANS certifications are a plus.
- Physical requirements include sitting, standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. Occasional exposure to weather, noise, and travel, including potential passport requirements for Toronto visits.

Salary Range: $111,000 - 120,000
