RBC in Toronto is seeking a Senior Network Security Analyst to support firewall requests, deploy VPN/firewall platforms, and respond to security events across global teams. The role emphasizes collaboration with DevOps and operations to improve processes and reduce costs while maintaining strong cyber security standards.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in cyber and network security, experience with firewalls and VPNs, and multiple certifications (Palo Alto, Cisco, Checkpoint or Fortinet).

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in cyber & network security.
  • Experience with security technologies including firewalls, VPNs and NAT.
  • 2+ Certifications: Palo Alto, Cisco Firewall, Fortinet or Checkpoint.
  • Knowledge of network automation and programmability (Python/API, Ansible, Terraform).
  • IPSEC Site-to-Site VPN deployment experience.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfill firewall requests globally on a day-to-day basis.
  • Deploy and maintain site-to-site VPN/firewall network platforms.
  • Respond to security events and incidents from various stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with DevOps/Automation teams to identify opportunities for automation.
  • Perform root cause analysis with vendors and implement permanent fixes.
  • Create/update support documentation and outage reports.
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotations (evenings/nights).
  • Provide on-call Level 2 support for cyber and network security infrastructure.
  • Resolve security network issues and drive improvements.
  • Maintain relationships with internal teams and external contacts to achieve measurable business outcomes.
  • Drive decisions requiring innovation and technical expertise across teams.

What is the Opportunity?

The Senior Network Security Analyst will support leadership and utilize organizational change management practices, including operational processes and tools to support business-as-usual activities.

Job Description

You will collaborate with teams within the unit to help meet their business objectives and implement changes to processes to increase agility and reduce costs within the unit.

The ideal candidate will have industry-relevant qualifications and certifications in cyber security, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, FortiGate and Cisco certification, the ability to work in a team, including promote a culture of high performance that celebrates inclusivity and innovation.

What Will You Do?
  • Responsible for the day-to-day fulfillment of firewall requests globally.
  • Responsible for deployment and life cycle maintenance of site-to-site VPN/Firewall network platform.
  • Responding to network security events and incident escalations from the first-level support Service Desk, internal/external clients, and business partners.
  • Participate with DevOps/Automation teams to identify opportunities for automation, provide technical requirements and validate functionality before production.
  • Performing root cause analysis with vendor engineers and escalation teams for major incidents and recurring problems and implementing permanent solutions.
  • Creating/improving support documentation and ensuring reports are documented and kept up to date for major network-related outages.
  • Participate in 24 x 7 on-call rotational shifts including evenings and nights.
  • Provides on-call Level 2 support for the cyber and network security infrastructure (i.e., firewalls, VPN Business to business connectivity etc.)
  • Independently resolves Cyber Security Networks related problems by identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions that enhance efficiency within scope of responsibility.
  • Maintains and enhances relationships with internal teams and external contacts to deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Drives decisions on issues requiring innovative thinking and technical expertise and providing recommendations that influence own team and across other work areas.
  • Collaborates with business units, vendors, and internal teams to resolve incidents, deliver technical solutions, and address infrastructure and application security requirements.
What Do You Need to Succeed?
Must-Have
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience.
  • Experience in cyber & network security technology.
  • Advanced security (firewalls, VPNs, NAT)
  • Strong understanding of security exposures and mitigating designs.
  • 2 or more Certifications: Palo alto, Cisco Firewall, Fortinet or Checkpoint
  • Network automation and programmability (Python/API Knowledge, Ansible, Terraform)
  • IPSEC Site-Site VPN Deployment
Nice to Have
  • Scrum & Agile methodology for Sprint Planning via Jira Tools Platform
  • Exposed to AI in Cybersecurity
  • Agile Methodology and JIRA Platform
  • ITIL Incident, Change and Problem Management knowledge with ServiceNow Platform
  • Algosec Platform Knowledge (Fireflow and AFA)
  • Troubleshooting and Analytical Skills
