Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a senior cybersecurity practitioner and operations strategist to raise the quality, scalability, and technical rigor of Cyber Operations. You will blend hands-on cyber judgment with systems-level operating design to resolve dual-use questions and uplift SOPs, reviewers, and vendors.

This Toronto-based role is currently remote and will transition to in-office arrangements. You will partner with policy, safety, security, and legal teams to implement durable improvements across

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience (offensive security, threat intel, incident response, or related).
• Ability to convert policy ambiguity into reviewer SOPs, training and tooling requirements.
• Experience building and improving high-stakes operations, QA, escalation workflows or vendor/BPO programs.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the Cyber Operations operating model across priorities, SOPs, escalation paths and quality metrics.
• Act as the senior cyber expert for complex decisions across ChatGPT, API, Codex, agents and products.
• Translate policy and reviewer feedback into clear decision rules and calibration workflows.
• Develop durable operating systems, holdouts, tagging, adjudication and automation evaluations.
• Grow FTE and BPO capability through onboarding, coaching and vendor partnerships.
• Identify root causes using signals like SLA, backlog, appeals and disagreements to guide fixes.
• Build hands-on solutions: SQL analyses, scripts, dashboards, LLM eval workflows and routing logic to reduce manual effort.
• Collaborate with Policy, Safety, Legal, Product, Engineering and Investigations to launch changes.
