Job summary

Accenture is seeking a Custom Application Development Lead in Montreal to drive design, development and delivery of modern enterprise applications and ECM assets. You will guide architecture decisions, mentor distributed teams and ensure secure, scalable software in a regulated financial environment.

Responsibilities include leading ECM modernization, cloud migrations to AWS, building integrations with Java/Spring Boot and Kafka, and shaping CI/CD with GitHub Actions, Harness and ArgoCD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in software development, application development or custom software delivery.
• Proven experience leading development teams, technical workstreams or large-scale development initiatives.
• Experience working within Agile delivery methodologies.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem‑solving skills.
• This role requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the office. Preferred location: Montreal, Quebec
• English is required for this position as this role will be aligned to multi‑national teams where English is the common language across our North America Market.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and implementation of custom software components and service-based architectures supporting ECM assets and document processing solutions.
• Drive solution architecture and technical design decisions across distributed systems, microservices, batch workloads and event-driven applications.
• Design and develop integrations using Java/Spring Boot, REST/Open APIs and Kafka to connect ECM assets with upstream and downstream banking systems.
• Lead batch-oriented integrations supporting ECM and CMOD loads, including high-volume document ingestion and transaction processing.
• Design AWS-based document workflows and integrations using AWS Lambda, AWS Batch and Amazon S3.
• Provide technical leadership for ECM modernization and cloud migration initiatives, including FileNet and CMOD workloads moving to AWS-based architectures.
• Guide teams in implementing CI/CD, deployment automation, container platforms, Infrastructure as Code and job orchestration using GitHub Actions, Harness, ArgoCD, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform and BMC Control‑M.
• Establish and promote development standards, code quality, automated testing, security, observability and operational reliability practices.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship and guidance to development teams and strengthen development capability through knowledge sharing and reusable assets.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, security teams and business stakeholders to align solutions with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze complex technical and business challenges and develop scalable, maintainable and resilient solutions.
• Take accountability for delivery outcomes and contribute to critical technical and business decisions across multiple teams.
