Senior Credit and Grain Risk Specialist
Viterra is seeking a motivated and analytical thinker to join our team in the role of Senior Credit and Grain Risk Specialist, which is responsible for supervising the credit and position program while supporting the Manager, Credit and Grain Risk to ensure the execution of responsibilities and objectives in the risk department.
What You’ll Do
- Provides recommendations and approvals/denials of credit/counterparty exposure and monitors credit availability to existing or prospective customers.
- Monitors and facilitates cash collection activities for all customer accounts.
- Places and monitors accounts for third-party collection and recommends bad debt write offs as necessary.
- Reviews and analyzes financial statements to determine the appropriate credit limit for a customer.
- Reviews and provides recommendations for third-party inventory limits, reconciliations, and discrepancies.
- Annually reviews all third-party facility agreements to ensure accurate and current agreements are in place. Prepares recommendations for approval.
- Reviews and provides recommendations on the analysis of allowance for doubtful accounts and counter party risk provisions.
- Lead, coach and manage the team to ensure excellence, awareness and commitment to the client, team and the department’s goals and objectives.
What You Bring To Our Team
- Analytical thinker with attention to detail, adaptable, and quick to learn new concepts.
- Graduated from a post-secondary institution with a degree in Business Administration / Commerce. Accounting knowledge for financial statement review is a requirement.
- At least four years’ experience with credit analysis reporting.
- Demonstrated analytical skills in the assessment of risk. Knowledge and understanding of applicable credit and collection regulations.
- Computer proficient, with demonstrated ability in the use of word processing, spreadsheet and database software applications within a Windows based operating environment.
