Senior Cost Accountant - Consultant

Vaco Resources is partnering with a rapidly growing defense technology company to find a Senior Cost Accountant - Consultant who will be instrumental in shaping the financial landscape of cutting-edge defense solutions. What You’ll Do:

1. Own the Cost Data: You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of cost data that drive strategic decisions.
2. Month-End Close: Manage month-end procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations, to ensure a seamless financial close.
3. Drive Efficiency: Analyze cost variances, identify process improvements, and collaborate with teams to enhance material flow and minimize roadblocks.
4. Inventory Management: Oversee inventory counts and adjustments, ensuring meticulous tracking and valuation at our Atlanta facility.
5. Collaborate for Success: Work closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Manufacturing, and other teams to foster continuous improvement and collaboration.

Who You Are:

1. Educated and Experienced: You hold a Bachelor’s degree and bring 1+ years of cost accounting expertise, coupled with 3+ years of professional experience.
2. Government Contracting Savvy: You have a solid understanding of Cost Accounting Standards and the nuances of accounting for government contracting.
3. Communicator: Your strong communication skills enable you to articulate complex financial data to stakeholders at all levels.
