The Department of Families is looking for qualified candidates for the role of Senior Coordinator Resources for the Centralized Services and Disability Supports branch of the Community Services and Supports Division.

Conditions of Employment :

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check
  • Must have a valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for government / business purposes OR the ability to travel independently to appointments outside of headquarters within a reasonable time frame

Qualifications : Essential :

  • Post-secondary degree in social sciences (Bachelor of Social Work preferred). A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience in human resource management and the ability to supervise a service delivery team including performance and attendance coaching, orientation, training and development.
  • Leadership experience in a social service delivery environment which includes management of program administration and service delivery to clients.
  • Demonstrated case management experience in a social service setting.
  • Experience with the interpretation, evaluation and implementation of policies, processes and procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage crisis and assess risk relating to the safety of vulnerable adults.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop, foster and maintain respectful relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders in order to work effectively and collaboratively with them.
  • Effective verbal communication skills with the ability to express ideas in a clear, concise manner for variety of audiences.
  • Effective written communication skills with the ability to create a variety of documents for various audiences.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage, prioritize and meet competing deadlines.

Desired :

  • Experience building relationships with Indigenous peoples and implementing the principles of reconciliation.
  • Experience in financial management activities, including resource planning, budgeting and / or expenditure control for operational programs.

Duties :

Reporting to the Assistant Director, the Senior Coordinator Resources provides additional leadership and direction supporting the team of Residential, Day and Transportation Coordinators together with placement functions. This position requires comprehensive knowledge of legislation, regulation, and policy, as well as expertise in program planning, delivery, and evaluation. The Senior Coordinator is responsible for resource development / coordination and accountable for quality assurance. They ensure regional resource needs are met, and service issues are addressed. This position also provides leadership and support in a wide range of supervisory activities, including recruitment and selection, performance coaching, and staff training / orientation for compliance with program standards.
