Who we are looking for:
Conquer Cancer, the ASCO Foundation, is seeking a dynamic and creative Senior Coordinator, Editorial Content to develop compelling narratives that raise awareness and support our fundraising efforts. You will craft engaging content for a broad audience across digital and print platforms, directly contributing to our mission to conquer cancer.Responsibilities
Reporting to the Brand Content Editor, work with internal and external contributors on various editorial initiatives, actively working to develop and maximize the impact of new and existing content
Act as the point of contact between the marketing team and other departments to ensure consistent alignment and awareness of strategic objectives and priorities
Develop and maintain a comprehensive content repository to enable improved tracking, accessibility, and brand alignment
Ensure overall quality and consistency throughout the foundation's various content distribution platforms
Collaborate with our analytics team to measure content
Assist in implementing SEO best practices in online content
Support the planning, documentation, and measurement of digital campaigns and initiatives
Contribute to ensuring brand consistency and quality across all marketing and communication efforts
Serve as project coordinator for Conquer Cancer's monthly podcast
Write and/or edit a wide range of quarterly and annual written content designed to communicate donor impact, including the foundation's quarterly donor stewardship newsletter and our annual impact reports
Ghostwrite bi-monthly editorial columns for ASCO Connection magazinefor review by subject matter experts
Coordinate department-wide internal communications initiatives
Manage and quality control the foundation's online newsroom, including announcements, blog posts, press releases, etc.
Gather stories and conduct stakeholder interviews, both online and in person, to help raise awareness about Conquer Cancer and its mission
Edit and proofread a wide range of editorial and digital content
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related fieldor equivalent years of experience
3+ years of experience supporting a marketing or communications department
Experience with ideating and creating compelling and newsworthy editorial content
Experience writing for a broad range of media and platforms and for a range of audiences
Experience developing and optimizing content strategy to support marketing goals
Experience with (or a strong desire to learn) analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Libsyn
Basic knowledge of SEO principles and best practices
Competencies
Strong proofreading skills, including grammar, punctuation, and spelling
A high level of computer/technology literacy
Excellent communication skills with ability to clearly convey and receive information
High attention to detail with a creative mindset
Knowledge of an em dash, an en dash, and a hyphen differences (or the willingness to learn)
Ability to visualize storytelling possibilities beyond putting words on a page, whether by creating infographics, video storyboards, in-depth blog posts, podcast, or some other innovative content format that we haven't thought of yet
Skilled at connecting the dots between day-to-day work and big pictureoutcomes
Receptive of constructive feedback and committed to acting on it
Comfortable managing complex content development and review processes on deadline
Capable of building and cultivating relationships with doctors, scientists, patients, advocates, and other stakeholders, audiences, or sources
Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, and multi-task
Committed to collaborating across multiple teams to meet timelines and goals
Ability to work well both independently and collaboratively in teams
ADA/Physical Requirements
Fast-paced office environment with extended periods seated or standing at a desk.
High use of computer and other office technology equipment.
Travel
