On behalf of our client, Hercules SLR , Jump Recruitment is seeking an experienced, talented, goal-driven professional to join their finance team as Senior Controller located in Dartmouth, NS.

The Senior Controller is responsible for assisting with establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems related to accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll. This includes assisting the finance group with the achievement of the company’s financial performance and targets.

It is comprised of six distinct companies : Hercules SLR, Spartan Industrial Marine, Stellar Industrial Sales, Wire Rope Industries Atlantic, Atlantic Crane and Material Handling - with Hercules Machining & Millwright Services as a division of Hercules SLR. While Hercules has grown into a multitude of industrial sectors, we specialize in equipment, products and services for securing, lifting and rigging applications.

Responsibilities :

• Ensure the integrity of financial records is compliant with legislation, regulations and policies
• Leads the development of financial reports and analysis
• Monitor cash flow and treasury management
• Manages the processes for Finance and Account Receivable systems
• Oversees payroll for accuracy and timeliness of employee payments
• Leads a team of finance staff
• Provides efficient and effective office management

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent business field with a recognized Canadian / US professional accounting designation (CPA)
• 5-8 years Canadian work experience in finance space.
• 5+ years of accounting or financial administration experience for a major company or division of a large corporation
• Proven ability to lead financial teams as well as developing and mentoring staff
• Strong analytical, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting skills
• Proficient in ERP and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Exceptional communication skills
• Effective negotiating skills and tenacity
• Detail orientated and goal driven individual
• Legally entitled to work in Canada
