The ideal candidate will design and oversee instrumentation and control systems for diverse projects, requiring a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and over 10 years of experience in the oil refining industry. As a Senior Control Systems Engineer on our Engineering Services Team, you will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team on a wide variety of capital and expense projects. Your goal as an integral part of the Control Systems team will be to meet our safety, efficiency, reliability and production goals..Your success will be seen in your work on detailed design engineering activities, day-to-day technical support, long-term planning initiatives and strategic projects.
Please note: This work will require periodic visits to our operating facilities. You must be able to work in the field, including working in year-round weather conditions, able to bend, climb, stoop, kneel, crawl, etc. and able to lift up to 20lbs. You must be comfortable with high elevation climbing, working at heights and in enclosed spaces. You must be able to wear full PPE as required by safety standards.

Your Responsibilities:
Design of instrumentation and control systems, including safety instrumented systems (SIS) and machinery protection systems, for both capital and expense projects
Prepare detailed engineering drawings such as loop diagrams, location plans, control panel layouts and wiring schematics
Develop instrumentation specification datasheets and procurement documentation to support project execution
Prepare comprehensive Engineering Work Order (EWO) packages and provide technical support during construction, including responding to field queries and verifying installation completion.
Actively participate in P&ID and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) reviews to ensure safe and effective system design
Develop project cost estimates, including material take-offs (MTOs) and engineering effort hour forecasts
Perform technical and quality checks on engineering drawings and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards
Represent the team lead in interdisciplinary and departmental meetings as required
Coach, mentor and supervise junior and intermediate team members

Ability to deliver engineering solutions on time and within budget, consistently meeting project milestones in dynamic, project-driven environments
Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD, leveraging digital tools to streamline documentation, design and project coordination
Willingness to stay current on the latest technologies in instrumentation and control systems for process industry applications
Your Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or higher
Minimum 10+ years’ experience in instrumentation & control systems engineering within the oil refining industry or related sector
Experience with specifying instrumentation for use with DCS and PLC systems
Experience with Control, Pressure Safety and Motor Operated Valve design
Experience with Pressure, Temperature, Level, Flow and Analytical instrument design
P.Eng. designation (or immediate eligibility) in New Brunswick is required
