Overview

At KPMG, you’ll join a team of diverse and dedicated problem solvers, connected by a common cause turning insight into opportunity for clients and communities around the world.

Our Technology Risk Services team is growing, and we are looking for Senior Consultants to join our team in Toronto. The practice provides a variety of services to our clients. The successful candidate will focus on performing IT risk reviews or supporting IT internal audits within the IT risk domain. Assessment topics include data governance, system asset management tooling, IT projects, and broader information security topics. Senior Consultants will also train and guide new campus hires.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct assessments of IT risks and controls supporting audit and assurance engagements, including:
  • Data governance models, structures, and procedures
  • IT projects and system implementations
  • Third-party management
  • System asset management tooling
  • Supporting assessments on broader information security topics and IT General Controls (ITGCs)
  • Monitor relevant technology risk standards and practices
  • Develop risk and control matrices and review procedures
  • Review and advise on business process controls
  • Manage engagement risks through file reviews, planning, development, and profitability monitoring
  • Deliver multiple client engagements of varying size and complexity
  • Participate in business development by increasing awareness of services, developing relationships, and pursuing opportunities
  • Conduct research, technical testing, report writing, interviews, and client communication
  • Guide field teams and mentor junior staff

What You Bring To The Role

A successful candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISA, CRISC, CGEIT, ISO27001)
  • 2-5 years of experience in assessing IT or business process risks, preferably in consulting
  • Strong understanding of IT General Controls and controls-based audits (e.g., SOC 1, ISO 27001)
  • Experience with data governance, system asset tooling, IT projects, and IT governance
  • Experience testing controls in various IT environments
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Understanding of business and audit risks
  • High confidence, enthusiasm, and drive; willingness to travel within Canada and internationally
