The Senior Talent Acquisition Consultant contributes to the success of the Talent Solutions team in Canada by executing specific goals, plans, and initiatives aligned with the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities comply with regulations, policies, and procedures.
In this role, you will:
- Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Drive end-to-end recruitment for complex and specialized roles, including intake sessions with hiring managers, communication with candidates, interviews, assessments, offer management, negotiation, and exception decisions on salary and benefits.
- Support more complex business lines, working with executives and senior leaders, recruiting for senior, complex, and specialized roles.
- Manage complex compensation negotiations with candidates, engaging Total Rewards as needed.
- Lead the candidate’s talent journey, acting as a point of contact and building influential relationships during the selection process.
- Partner with hiring managers and senior leaders to advise on hiring decisions and successfully onboard new hires.
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition team members to develop a strong candidate pipeline, attract top talent, and ensure a smooth candidate experience.
- Proactively source candidates through various channels for critical, difficult-to-fill, and complex roles.
- Review pre-employment screening results and provide recommendations for hiring decisions.
- Monitor industry and labour market developments to bring trends and best practices into the Bank, escalating issues as needed.
- Consider the Bank’s risk appetite and culture in daily activities and decisions.
- Ensure effective operations and compliance with risk management, regulatory, AML/ATF, and conduct guidelines.
- Foster a high-performance environment, implementing strategies to attract, retain, develop, and motivate the team while promoting inclusivity; communicate vision and values, and manage succession planning.
Qualifications include:
- 3-5 years of progressive recruitment experience
- Effective communication skills for engaging leaders at all levels
- Experience sourcing for complex roles
- Experience working across aligned business functions and geographies
- Expertise in behavioral interviewing techniques
- Ability to connect big picture to team and individual contributions
- Ability to identify and develop strengths in others
- Proactive in anticipating business needs and providing innovative solutions
- Encourages exploration of new ideas and resilience after setbacks
- Sense of urgency with high decision-making capacity
- Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (asset)
- Post-secondary degree or diploma preferred
