What You’ll Be Doing

The role is responsible for leading solution designs across systems, technologies, and platforms in Core banking - Mortgages, Lending, and Insurance Portfolio. The role provides technical leadership to develop precise steps and processing logic across applications and platforms ensuring the designed specifications achieve business needs. Additionally, the role offers comprehensive senior-level technical consulting to other IT senior management and technical teams. The role involves making technology selection decisions in situations where business requirements are not fully defined.

At CIBC, we enable a flexible work environment. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid arrangement, spending 1-3 days per week on-site, with other days remote.

How You’ll Succeed

1. Solution Design: Perform and coordinate complex solution design activities. Understand business requirements and translate them into solutions aligned with our technology and application roadmaps. Design and document technical functionalities, infrastructure, interfaces, and integrations. Lead the design of cost-effective and innovative solutions to meet business objectives and operational efficiency.
2. Strategy and Roadmap: Contribute to technology and application roadmaps aligned with the bank’s vision, strategy, and objectives. Lead multiple complex solutions while maintaining consistency and adopting best practices for continuous improvement.
3. Stakeholder Management: Act as the solution design lead, facilitating design review sessions with project teams to ensure alignment with business and architectural requirements. Support projects through knowledge sharing, collaboration, and problem-solving.

Who You Are

• Experience: 8-10+ years in designing, developing, and implementing solutions across front-end technologies (JavaScript, Angular, React), interfaces, processing logic (Java, API, batch), microservices, messaging (Solace, MQ, Kafka), databases (Oracle, MS SQL, NoSQL). Understanding of cloud technologies (Azure). Proficient in sequence diagrams, UML, object-oriented design, and security principles. Experience presenting to senior management. Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence is a plus.
