Job description

Your Opportunity:

Join us in establishing the Stollery Centre for Excellence in Virtual Health (The Centre), a dynamic initiative leading innovation and integration of safe, appropriate, and patient-centered virtual care across the pediatric patient journey – both locally and within rural, remote, and Indigenous communities throughout Alberta. The Centre provides project management, change management, and evaluation expertise to projects that span from small to complex in nature. Projects range from optimizing existing virtual care connections to innovating new modalities, involving Stollery programs, AHS departments or zones, and external stakeholders.

As a Senior Implementation and Evaluation Consultant, you will support groundbreaking projects shaping the future of pediatric virtual healthcare. You will guide project teams in developing KPIs and success indicators, and your evaluations will clarify impact and value, enabling organizational learning and improvement. This role is based at the Walter C. Mackenzie Health Sciences Centre. Occasional travel outside Edmonton may be required. Evening and weekend work may be necessary.

Description:

The Senior Implementation and Evaluation Consultant reports to the Executive Director, Inpatients and Ambulatory. Your expertise in program evaluation and knowledge sharing will be key to assessing the Centre's impacts. You will lead evaluation efforts for virtual care projects, support capacity building through coaching staff, and lead knowledge translation activities to disseminate findings. You will identify risks and develop mitigation strategies, establish performance metrics, and support continuous quality improvement. Success will be measured by project milestone delivery, evaluation quality, stakeholder satisfaction, and actionable outcomes.

Qualifications include a master’s degree in evaluation or a related research discipline, with at least 5 years of implementation/evaluation experience, including 3 in healthcare. Leadership experience of 2-3 years in healthcare, relevant certifications, and strong research and evaluation methodology knowledge are required. Preferred qualifications include partnership-building skills, understanding of health sector integration within AHS, and certifications from the Canadian Evaluation Society or in Implementation Science.
