Role Summary:

The Consultant, Business Systems Analyst collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, including technology and business teams, to develop and implement data solutions tailored to project requirements. They are involved throughout the project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, test planning, execution, sign-off, and deployment into production.

This position does not have direct reports.

Major Areas of Responsibility

1. Develop a deep understanding of client business issues and data challenges.
2. Ensure requirements are clear, complete, and unambiguous.
3. Validate solutions against requirements to ensure quality.
4. Communicate effectively within the team and with clients to resolve issues.
5. Escalate issues promptly when necessary.
6. Contribute to project planning and scheduling.
7. Meet deadlines and adhere to project plans.
8. Gather and drive requirements, creating detailed documentation for stakeholder approval.
9. Provide ongoing updates throughout the project.
10. Develop and execute test strategies and cases.
11. Manage defects and perform regression testing as needed.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• 3-5 years of experience on technical projects, including at least 2 as a Business Systems Analyst.
• Practical knowledge of SDLC methodologies, especially Agile and Waterfall.
• Experience with Databases, Data Warehouses, Analytics, and Reporting.
• Experience with ETL processes.
• Proficiency in SQL, Teradata, or Oracle.
• Familiarity with Analytics/BI tools (MicroStrategy, Tableau, Power BI) and Cloud platforms (Snowflake, AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience documenting requirements (BRD, SRS, Test Documents, Data Mapping, Data Dictionaries).
• Ability to collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, and clients.
• Critical thinking and a consultative approach.
• Bachelor's Degree in Software or Computer Science/Engineering or related experience.

Nice to have:

• Experience as a Data Analyst.
• Experience with Snowflake.
