Job description

Overview

At KPMG, you’ll join a team of diverse and dedicated problem solvers, connected by a common cause: turning insight into opportunity for clients and communities around the world. We specialize in providing cutting-edge cybersecurity compliance guidance to our clients, ensuring they meet the stringent cyber requirements.

What you will do

As a Senior Consultant in our Cybersecurity and Compliance service line, you will play a critical role in helping our clients achieve and maintain compliance with key cybersecurity standards. This is a customer-facing, consultancy position requiring a mix of technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and advisory skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Provide expert consulting services to clients on cyber compliance requirements, helping them to understand and implement necessary controls.
  2. Validate client cyber compliance project scope.
  3. Conduct thorough assessments of clients' existing cybersecurity postures, identify gaps, and develop remediation plans.
  4. Assist clients in developing and maintaining cyber compliance activities that meet required standards.
  5. Prepare clear, concise, and professional documentation and reports.
  6. Leverage a solid grounding in IT networks, network technology, and security assets (Firewall, SIEM, etc.) to provide practical, actionable guidance to clients.
  7. Maintain a deep understanding of evolving compliance requirements.

What you bring to the role

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT, with a focus on network technology and cybersecurity.
  3. Strong understanding and knowledge of IT networks, security technologies (e.g., firewalls, SIEM, intrusion detection/prevention systems), and cloud security.
  4. Familiarity with NIST cybersecurity standards and other relevant cybersecurity standards.
  5. Ability to lead clients to specific conclusions by providing implementation statements and evidence.
  6. The ability to challenge yourself and adapt accordingly, if necessary.
  7. An interest in constantly learning new things.
  8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.

This role deals with clients located in Quebec and Ontario. Fluency in English is therefore required to interact with and handle requests from anglophone clients on a daily basis.

Assets:

  1. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CCSP, CompTIA Security+, SSCP, or other cybersecurity certification(s).
  2. Ability to analyze complex situations, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.
  3. Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  4. Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  5. Experience in the aerospace or defense sectors.
