Qualifications

  • 7 years of experience in construction or management of energy projects.
  • Experience with multidisciplinary projects including contracts.
  • EPC experience desirable.

Your contribution!

The Senior Construction Site Manager oversees project planning, site management, and compliance with HSE and QA/QC standards. They manage resources, mitigate risks, and ensure financial and regulatory adherence while leading the team and communicating with stakeholders.

Your day-to-day!

Project Planning And Coordination

  • During the pre-construction phase of a project, participate in the development of the detailed site plans, configuration, engineering, schedules, and construction plan.
  • Develop and prepare on site construction QA/QC plan.


Site Management

  • Oversee daily site operations to ensure efficient workflow and productivity as planned.
  • Manage on-site resources, including labour, contractors and suppliers.
  • Monitor progress, adjust schedules as needed to meet project milestones and provide risk mitigations solution.
  • Ensure compliance and adherence to construction contracts and suppliers’ agreements.


Health, Safety, And Environmental Compliance

  • Enforce strict health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations.


Quality Control And Assurance

  • Lead the team to inspect and/or perform inspection to identify and resolve defects or non-conformities as per QA/QC plan.
  • Financial Management.
  • Assist in budget preparation and monitoring expenditures to avoid overruns. Participate in negotiation with suppliers and subcontractors to secure cost-effective agreements.


Risk Management

  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies with project team.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies or unexpected issues to minimize impact on the project.
  • In collaboration with functional project team, ensure contingency plans are in place for environmental and operational risks.


Team Leadership And Staff Development

  • Lead, motivate, and supervise the construction team and contractors.
  • Resolve conflicts and foster a positive, productive work environment.


Stakeholder Communication

  • Act as the primary point of contact for on-site project-related communications.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to project director, clients, and regulatory bodies.
  • Facilitate site visits and audits from stakeholders and authorities.


Regulatory And Legal Compliance

  • Ensure all construction activities comply with legal, contractual, and regulatory requirements.


Your skills, our requirements!

  • 7 years of experience in the construction and/or management of energy projects or in a similar position on heavy civil infrastructure
  • Electrical engineering degree, or equivalent
  • Experience with large and complex multidisciplinary projects including contract and supplier interfaces
  • Team oriented attitude
  • Understanding of renewable energy project construction
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Service-oriented with commitment to working within a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, self-starter and energetic
  • Makes good decisions based on available information and with the interest of the company priority
  • Proficient in French and English, both oral and written (knowledge of Spanish, an asset)
  • EPC experience desirable
  • Direct management/leadership of project teams
  • Proficiency with the MS Office Suite, especially MS project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • The position is based in the company's Longueuil (Quebec) headquarters.
  • This position is a P4 level.
