Senior Project Manager - Construction

On behalf of our client, a leading construction firm specializing in large-scale, high-rise, commercial development projects, we are seeking a skilled Project Manager for direct hire. Our client is committed to delivering quality, safety, and excellence in every project they undertake. They are currently looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to join their dynamic team and oversee the successful execution of their high-rise construction projects in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. Excellent salary between $150,000 - $195,000 annually.

Position Overview:

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading, planning, budgeting, and executing high-rise building projects from inception to completion. You will ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The role requires a combination of leadership, communication, and technical expertise to manage both internal and external teams, resolve any issues, and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the entire lifecycle of high-rise construction projects, ensuring that deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Oversee the procurement of materials and manage subcontractors to ensure timely delivery.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and building codes throughout the construction process.
  • Monitor and track project progress, adjusting plans as necessary to mitigate risks or resolve issues.
  • Manage project budgets and ensure effective cost control, tracking expenses and preventing overruns.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, senior management, and stakeholders, providing updates on progress and key milestones.
  • Resolve conflicts, manage challenges, and find solutions to any issues that arise during the construction phase.
  • Ensure compliance with all local regulations and environmental standards.
  • Ability to work between the office and the construction office.

Qualifications:

  • PMP or other project management certifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in project management from inception to completion within mid to high-rise construction.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, safety regulations, and local building codes.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically under pressure.
  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore, Jonas or similar tools).
