America Fujikura Limited (AFL) is on the hunt for experienced Senior Construction Manager to join our Canadian Operations. Under the general guidance of the Director and/or General Manager of Construction, the Senior Construction Manager is responsible for the oversight and execution of civil construction operations, aerial and underground cable installation, and fiber optic splicing. This role ensures that all projects are completed on schedule, within scope, and in compliance with safety and quality standards.
The Senior Construction Manager leads local construction management teams to implement project plans and schedules while upholding high standards for health, safety, and quality control. This role requires regular travel to project sites and a proactive, hands-on approach to leadership and execution.
What You'll Do: As a Senior Construction Manager at AFL, you will be responsible for directing local construction management to implement project plans and schedules, while ensuring safety and quality control, in addition your responsibilities will include:
Enforce compliance with the Project Specific Safety Program (PSSP), AFL’s Health, Safety & Environmental (HS&E) standards, and all applicable OH&S regulations across all employees and subcontractors.
Ensure the successful delivery of all projects in alignment with corporate objectives and contractual obligations
Oversee materials supply and task execution to maintain compliance with the Project Quality Program.
Confirm that local construction management executes work in accordance with approved plans and technical specifications.
Develop, manage, and monitor project schedules in collaboration with senior leadership.
Review and analyze daily construction reports submitted by local management teams, detailing progress, site activities, inspections, and other key metrics.
Travel to project sites as needed to ensure alignment and execution of project goals.
Perform additional duties as required to support project success.
Represent AFL professionally by taking ownership of responsibilities and seeking opportunities to add value to the organization
Ensures that the requirements of the Project Specific Safety Program (PSSP) to promote overall compliance of AFL HS&E standards, applicable OH&S Acts, regulations and codes with all employees and subcontractors on the project are implemented by local construction management
What We’re Looking for:
3+ years’ experience in a senior construction management or supervisory role in Outside Plant (OSP) or telecom-related projects is preferred.
Demonstrated understanding of health, safety, and environmental best practices in construction.
Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and project timelines while maintaining clear, professional communication.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.
Must be willing and able to travel to project sites as required.
