Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team. This role requires a seasoned professional who can provide strategic insight, technical expertise and mentorship while ensuring the delivery of accurate and competitive estimates. Responsibilities
  • Preconstruction Leadership: Oversee and guide the full estimating process from concept through to final submission, ensuring estimates are accurate, comprehensive and competitive.
  • Strategic Risk Management: Evaluate contracts, conditions and scopes of work to proactively identify risks and develop robust mitigation strategies.
  • Mentorship & Team Development: Provide guidance to junior estimators, fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
  • Client & Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams, representing Acadian Construction as a trusted partner.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor and analyze market conditions, pricing trends and industry innovations to ensure estimates remain competitive and forward-looking.
  • Execution Planning: Develop project execution strategies including preliminary schedules, resource requirements and logistical considerations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion the adoption of new technologies, processes and best practices to advance estimating capabilities.
  • Corporate Contribution: Support business development efforts by contributing insights during bid/no-bid decisions and proposal preparation.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 7 years of estimating experience in the construction industry with a general contractor, including work on complex multi-million-dollar projects.
  • Diploma in Engineering Technology or a Bachelors in Engineering.
  • Demonstrated leadership in guiding teams and mentoring junior staff.
  • Strong negotiation, communication and client-relations skills (English required; French is an asset).
  • Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, On-Screen Takeoff; familiarity with Revit/BIM.
  • Gold Seal Certification in Estimating (asset).
  • Detail-oriented, analytical and adaptable with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
