We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Construction Coordinator to join our team and take on a leadership role in coordinating construction activities across our projects.
Job Description:
As a Senior Construction Coordinator, you will play a critical role in overseeing, updating and managing the construction processes, working closely with senior leadership, project managers, and key stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will supervise and mentor junior staff, and serve as a primary point of contact for trades, municipalities, and other internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate directly with the Construction Manager, Site Supervisors, Warranty Technicians, and other internal stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
Coordinate with Site Supervisors and Field Managers to ensure smooth integration between the field and office, facilitating effective communication and project progression.
Evaluate and improve construction processes to ensure continuous efficiency and effectiveness in operations.
Manage and oversee the administrative operations for construction projects, ensuring smooth communication between teams and with external parties.
Liaise with municipal building departments for permitting, inspections, and code compliance; ensure timely approvals and responses to inquiries.
Supervise and mentor junior construction coordinators and administrative staff, providing guidance on best practices, systems, and processes.
Refine and oversees the trade onboarding program and effectively manage ongoing trade relationships in conjunction with the estimating team.
Review, negotiate, and track trade contractor contracts and ensure scope of work aligns with project goals and timelines.
Update scopes of work as changes are made, communicate these to applicable parties
Distribute project plans, specifications, schedules, and related documents to all stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Coordinate and schedule routine inspections and necessary approvals from municipalities and utilities.
Oversee the distribution of detailed change orders, ensuring that project schedules are updated accordingly and communicated to all team members.
Ensure changes to plans/details are communicated to applicable parties, and implemented on site (including changes that might need to be made part way through a process/build)
Assist in updating other departments on construction status/delays/problems
Determine whether changes requested by customers can be accommodated or not and if there are applicable charges
Act as the key liaison between clients and the project team, providing timely updates on progress, change orders, and deadlines.
Utilize scheduling software to manage project timelines, track progress, and ensure deadlines are met.
Monitor and enforce compliance with industry regulations, building codes, and company safety standards.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5+ years of residential construction experience, with significant exposure to project coordination.
Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience in managing complex construction schedules, budgets, and administrative workflows.
Experience liaising with municipal building departments, contractors, vendors, and clients.
A strong understanding of the residential construction process, including all phases of how a house is built (from foundation to finishing), building codes and the ability to apply that knowledge to coordinate projects efficiently.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting floor plans and construction drawings.
Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to handle complex or challenging conversations.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
Previous experience in a senior administrative or coordinator role within a residential construction environment.
Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and supervise junior staff.

Salary Range:
$70,000 - $90,000 per year (depending on qualification/experience)
