Job summary

Lépine Talent inc. is assisting a well-established Quebec law firm in recruiting a lawyer with at least seven years of experience in commercial and construction litigation.

The role offers ownership of files within a dynamic, collaborative team and a hybrid work arrangement across Quebec offices. The ideal candidate will be a member in good standing of the Barreau du Québec, with excellent drafting, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills, and fluency in French.

Qualifications

• Member in good standing of the Barreau du Québec.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial and construction litigation.
• Experience in professional liability litigation is an asset.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills.
• Strong command of French, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work independently, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.
• Interest in client development and business growth.

Responsibilities

• Advising and representing clients in commercial disputes and construction-related litigation.
• Developing legal strategies tailored to the specific issues of each case.
• Drafting legal opinions, demand letters, and court proceedings.
• Preparing and conducting examinations and representing clients before the courts.
• Participating in negotiations and negotiating out-of-court settlements.
• Independently managing files while maintaining strong client relationships.
• Contributing to the growth of the practice and business development initiatives.
