Job summary

Intact Financial Corporation is seeking a Compliance Lawyer on an 18- to 24-month contract. You will identify and manage legal, regulatory, compliance and reputational risks, promoting a culture of integrity and ethical business conduct across Canadian lines.

The role requires a Quebec/Ontario bar, eight+ years of post-call experience, and strong skills in privacy, regulatory, and insurance matters. Fluency in French and English is required; hybrid work options apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum eight years of post-call legal experience in a large law firm or in-house.
• Bar admission in Ontario or Quebec.
• Deep experience in compliance, regulatory, and privacy matters.
• Experience with Quebec insurance law is an asset.
• Excellent communication, writing, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely legal and regulatory advice on compliance and privacy matters.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Canadian lines of business.
• Support regulatory engagement and reporting and internal compliance reporting.
• Lead compliance and privacy training and awareness initiatives.
• Investigate, manage, and resolve compliance and privacy incidents and breaches.
• Maintain governance and policy management for compliance.
• Continuously improve compliance and privacy processes.
