Job summary

Trans Mountain Corporation is seeking an Assurance Advisor (Contract) to provide independent and objective assurance over compliance, risk, controls, CAPA, and management system effectiveness. The role reports to the Manager, Compliance from its Calgary Head Office and requires field‑based audits and highly collaborative stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Post‑secondary education in Business, Risk Management, Compliance, Quality Management, Engineering, Audit, or related discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of progressive experience.
• Diploma or certification in Management Systems, Organizational Effectiveness, Change Management, or Process Improvement considered an asset.
• CMQ/OE designation considered an asset.
• ISO Management Systems training such as ISO 9001, 31000, or 45001 considered an asset.
• Experience conducting audits, compliance reviews, assurance assessments, or effectiveness validations.
• Experience in regulated industries with strong evidence management and audit requirements.
• Experience assessing governance, controls, risk management processes, and CAPA effectiveness.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develop assurance criteria to assess management system governing requirements.
• Develop and execute assurance plans, audits, reviews, and validation activities using approved criteria and evidence standards.
• Validate control effectiveness, governance implementation, CAPA closure quality, and compliance with established requirements.
• Identify systemic issues, recurring deficiencies, control weaknesses, and improvement opportunities.
• Produce objective, evidence‑based assurance findings that support management decision‑making.
• Confirm effectiveness of implemented actions where validation is required.
• Maintain audit‑ready assurance documentation and records.
