What you bring

As a Senior Compensation Consultant, you will bring your thought leadership and in-depth knowledge of compensation trends and practices to provide strategic consulting support to internal stakeholders including People & Culture Business Partners and senior leaders.

You will provide professional understanding of compensation, total rewards, pay equity, and HR practices, and use this knowledge to reinforce the design, education, and facilitation of compensation programs that support our evolving business needs.

With your consultative approach, strategic focus, and pragmatism, you will ensure the effective design and delivery of programs including annual market benchmarking, merit increases, short-term and long-term incentives, global compensation processes, and M&A integrations. You are a highly analytical thinker with meticulous attention to detail, stakeholder management skills, and the ability to derive insights from complex data.

Working as a trusted partner to the People & Culture team, you will consult and advise on compensation programs and initiatives within TELUS Health. You will analyze data considering global market factors, work towards harmonizing our global total rewards programs across various business units and geographies.

The team and senior leaders rely on our guidance on market trends and legislation, helping attract and retain talent aligned with TELUS’s compensation strategy.

Here’s how
  • Act as a trusted advisor to People & Culture Business Partners and leaders, identifying compensation and organizational design challenges and developing solutions
  • Align compensation strategies with business needs to attract, develop, and retain talent
  • Provide guidance on job architecture and recommend updates to job structures based on compensation and organizational design principles
  • Support implementation of job evaluation and compliance with pay equity legislation
  • Manage pay equity and legislation projects, including analysis, review, and follow-up
  • Assist with integrating acquired organizations through analysis and alignment with TELUS Total Rewards strategy
  • Collaborate on annual market benchmarking, providing insights and recommendations
  • Manage compensation programs for your client groups, advising on base salary, bonuses, and incentives
  • Lead projects from assessment to implementation, including policy design, process documentation, and change management
  • Educate and train P&C partners, leaders, and peers on total rewards and compensation policies
  • Prepare presentations and analyses for executive audiences, highlighting trends and costs
  • Support TELUS values, engage in team activities, and contribute to a positive work environment
Qualifications

  • Progressive experience in compensation analysis or consulting, or in HR generalist roles with compensation knowledge
  • Experience with Workday or SuccessFactors HRIS systems, especially compensation modules
  • Excellent communication skills: clear, concise, and influential
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data and provide recommendations
  • Robust decision-making skills grounded in data
  • Effective collaboration skills and the ability to partner proactively
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to define issues and develop solutions
  • Comfort in fast-paced, dynamic environments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SuccessFactors, and G-Suite
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and education

Great-to-have:

  • CPHR/CRHA or CCP designation, or working towards it
  • Experience with pay equity legislation and provincial nuances
  • Project management experience in transformational compensation programs
  • Change management skills and experience creating compensation tools
  • Bilingual in English and French

Salary Range: $93,000-$139,000

Performance Bonus or Incentive: 15%
