Job summary

ComForCare Home Health Care - Halton is seeking a compassionate Senior Companion to join our Milton, ON team. The position focuses on providing genuine companionship and supportive in-home care to seniors, promoting dignity and independence.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, accompanying clients to appointments and events, and reporting changes to the care team. A background in caregiving and strong English communication are preferred, with first aid/cpr

Qualifications

• Previous caregiving or companion care experience is an asset.
• Genuine passion for working with seniors and elderly individuals.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Reliable, punctual and trustworthy with a professional attitude.
• Ability to pass the DEARS assessment.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
• Clear criminal background check and vulnerable sector screening required.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and emotional support to seniors in their homes, fostering trust and positive relationships.
• Assist clients with daily living activities such as light housekeeping, meal preparation, and errands.
• Accompany clients to appointments, social outings, and community activities.
• Monitor and report changes in client health, mood, or behavior to the care team.
• Engage clients in meaningful conversation, hobbies, and recreational activities to promote mental well-being.
• Provide respite support to family caregivers as needed.
• Maintain accurate client care records and documentation in accordance with company standards.
