Job description

Are you passionate about writing and storytelling? Can you lead the development of a corporate annual report and effectively communicate company initiatives? Does working with multimedia content — including videos, photos, and website content management systems — energize you?

SaskEnergy is seeking a strategic and creative individual to join our Corporate Communications team. The Senior Communications Officer takes a lead role in the development of written and interactive communications materials to engage our employees throughout the province and help us tell our story to internal and external stakeholders. This includes leading the development of Corporation’s annual report, writing articles for the intranet and the saskenergy.com website, developing messaging for all staff on various initiatives, creating content for social media, and taking part in the production of corporate videos.

As part of the overall Strategic Communications department, the Senior Communications Officer will also support SaskEnergy’s government and media relations team, which involves writing news releases, media advisories, and briefing notes, as well as taking part in the department’s on-call communications support rotation.

Position Details

This position is a temporary, full-time union role up to 12 months.

Qualifications
  1. Grade 12 or equivalent.
  2. Degree in English, Journalism or Communications.
  3. Valid Class 5 driver's license.
  4. Three (3) years of communications experience in the public or private sector, which may have included working in the media.
  5. Professional writing skills.
  6. An understanding of layout and basic graphic design skills.
  7. Experience with video production, including interviewing, shooting, editing and developing key messages would be considered an asset.
Additional Information
  1. Travel, including overnight stays away from bid headquarters is required on occasion.
  2. This job is subject to callout situations.

Hourly Rate Range

$46.77 ($7,587.03) - $47.84 ($7,760.60)
