Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. seeks a Commercial Installer to work onsite with commercial clients, configuring and programming integrated security systems. Dismantling and rearranging equipment as needed is also part of the role.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, some technical training, and the ability to read blueprints. Strong communication in English and a commitment to safety are essential components of this position in Ottawa.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical school training is a plus.
• Electrical and electronic equipment experience with mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to operate fleet vehicle safely.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Proficiency in English (reading/writing/speaking).
• Must be able to obtain reliability clearance.

Responsibilities

• Install devices and dismantle/reconstruct equipment as required by customer.
• Work safely to avoid injuries and protect property.
• Contact customers prior to installation date to verify schedule.
• Prepare estimates per supervisor instructions.
• Follow wiring diagrams and hookup procedures.
• Test system operation and report to the signal center.
• Read building blueprints as required.
• May lead installation teams on larger projects.
• Coach and mentor less experienced installers.
• Travel using company vehicle and equipment.
