  • 5 to 10+ years of experience in renewable energy commercialization, power origination, business development, or energy investments, ideally within an independent power producer, renewable energy developer, investment bank, institutional investment firm, or private equity environment.
  • Demonstrated experience originating, structuring, and negotiating renewable energy Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) within the past five years.

  • Proven experience evaluating wind, solar, or battery energy storage investments, including financial due diligence, project acquisitions, and transaction structuring.
  • Strong financial analysis and modelling capabilities, including project-level pro forma financial models, investment valuations, forecasting, and sensitivity and scenario analysis.
  • Excellent commercial negotiation and deal execution skills, with the ability to assess contractual risks and structure complex agreements.
  • Experience preparing renewable energy procurement submissions, competitive RFP responses, or utility-led bidding processes is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of corporate electricity procurement, energy hedging strategies, and market-related financial exposures.
  • Experience developing investment business cases, financial recommendations, and presentations for senior leadership or investment committees.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to collaborate across investment, development, legal, and finance teams. Established relationships within the Canadian renewable energy sector are considered an asset.
  • Excellent organizational skills, independent judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, analytical, and detail-oriented approach to problem-solving and commercial decision-making.
