Job summary

Capital Power, a North American energy company, is seeking a Senior Commercial Asset Manager for the GTA, ON area with a hybrid work model. You will lead commercial value optimization for generation assets, manage complex negotiations, and collaborate with operations, regulatory, finance, and legal teams to support strategic portfolio performance.

The role requires 7–10 years in related fields, strong P&L experience, and expertise in power markets, contracts, and financial analysis.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of experience in operational, commercial, engineering, business development, or financial roles.
• 5+ years of experience in P&L including variance reporting.
• Strong understanding of power markets and asset operations.
• Experience with complex legal agreements or contracts.
• Ability to travel across Eastern Canada.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial management and optimization of value for the assigned asset and generation fleet.
• Coordinate with operations, legal, credit, regulatory, finance, environmental, and external partners.
• Negotiate commercial contracts for inputs and sale of products/services (e.g., PPAs, long-term service agreements).
• Provide commercial support to facility managers on operating and capital investment issues.
• Lead analysis of external trends and develop action strategies to address opportunities.
