UI/UX Designer at Praella is a hybrid of several roles for a go-getter ready to impact a fast-growing digital agency. We are seeking a talented Ecommerce UI/UX Designer to join our creative team. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces and experiences for ecommerce websites. You will work closely with our creative, development and project management teams to ensure seamless integration of design elements and optimal user experience. The goal is to produce, execute, and ensure a high-quality product delivered on time and within budget.

The role is intended for someone who wants to make an immediate impact, not just from production but from the process, data, creatives, internal opportunities, merchants, etc.

It is essential for the candidate to have e-commerce experience — from data and analytics to creatives, web design and development, app design and development, email marketing, and conversion rate optimization. This is not a purely technical role, but rather a versatile designer role.

• Our founders started one of the first Shopify Plus agencies, which was eventually sold.
• We are Shopify Plus Partners and collaborate with other e-commerce leaders like ReCharge, Klaviyo, Omnisend, Yotpo, etc.
• We have a remote team, with our headquarters in Chicago. We also have a small team in Chicago and teams across the US, Canada, Europe, and India.

What would you be doing?

• Design and develop user interfaces for e-commerce websites that enhance user experience and increase conversions.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups using Figma to communicate interaction and design ideas.
• Collaborate with developers to implement attractive, technically feasible designs.
• Conduct usability testing and gather feedback for iterative improvements.
• Stay updated on UI/UX industry trends and best practices for ecommerce.
• Design high-quality ecommerce experiences across desktop, tablet, and mobile views.
• Deliver creative assets for projects from concept to completion, incorporating client input.
• Establish clear design goals and measurable targets.
• Develop solutions that resonate with target audiences and increase conversions.
• Work closely with front-end developers and team members to maximize design impact.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to leverage design for user acquisition, retention, and conversion.
• Contribute to internal campaigns and initiatives.
• Communicate your design vision effectively to clients and team members.

What will make you an ideal candidate?

• Proven experience as a UI/UX Designer with a portfolio showcasing ecommerce projects.
• 5+ years of UI/UX design experience.
• Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and familiarity with Shopify and ecommerce UX patterns.
• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, responsive and mobile-first design.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
• Knowledge of typography and fundamental design principles.
• Data-driven decision-making skills.
• Ability to share and execute innovative ideas and strategies.
• Enthusiastic problem solver, proactive, and adaptable to fast-paced environments.
• Awareness of latest UI/UX trends.
• Knowledge of HTML/CSS; frontend frameworks are a plus.
