Senior CNC Milling Machinist

We are currently recruiting for a Senior CNC Milling Machinist to join our team in Calgary, AB at our Calgary 8 facility. The Senior CNC Milling Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a variety of machines within the Machine Shop.

Schedules

Evenings: Mon to Wed - 3pm to 1:30am, and Thu 3pm to 1am.

Weekends: Fri to Sun OR Sat to Mon - 6am to 6pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work Performed:
    • This position demonstrates safe working practices in the machining, fabrication and modification of aeronautical components
    • The position may also be required to assist in the development of modifications and the preparation of preliminary sketches to tooling or final assemblies
    • The position requires a thorough knowledge of layout and development, as well as methods and procedures of fabrication, weldability, heat treatment, etc.
    • This position would be responsible for the training and mentorship of junior machinists.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in CNC Milling Machining as a Machinist/Programmer
  • You must be a resident of, or willing to relocate to the Calgary, AB area
  • Understanding and application of CNC programs and G-code
  • Ability to translate the requirements of detailed part drawings into measurements for part verification
  • Ability to perform daily, weekly & monthly maintenance on equipment
  • Critical thinking skills and strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and are a team player
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Please note that this is a unionized position – wages will be determined by qualifications and competencies required as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
