Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior Cloud Engineering Lead to drive the engineering, optimization, and continuous improvement of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 cloud platforms. You will act as a technical resource for complex cloud initiatives, migrations, and modernization efforts.

Mentor Cloud Engineers, lead automation and Infrastructure as Code, and apply Well-Architected Framework principles to optimize workloads, resilience, security posture, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience supporting and engineering enterprise infrastructure and cloud environments.
• 5+ years designing and optimizing Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud solutions.
• 5+ years developing automation, Infrastructure as Code, and cloud engineering practices.
• 3+ years leading complex cloud initiatives, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with architects, cybersecurity teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.

Job description

• Lead the engineering, optimization, and continuous improvement of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 cloud platforms
• Act as a technical resource for complex cloud initiatives, migrations, modernization efforts, and enterprise technology projects
• Mentor Cloud Engineers and drive adoption of cloud engineering best practices

• Apply Microsoft Azure Well-Architected Framework principles to assess and optimize cloud workloads
• Contribute to and implement engineering standards, operational patterns, and governance practices
• Lead initiatives improving cloud platform resilience, performance, security posture, and cost efficiency
• Lead complex troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for critical cloud issues
• Implement improvements across monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, capacity management, and operational maturity
• Partner with Architects, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Application teams, vendors, and business stakeholders on strategic cloud initiatives

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience supporting and engineering enterprise infrastructure and cloud environments
• 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and optimizing Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud solutions
• 5+ years of experience developing automation, Infrastructure as Code, and cloud engineering practices
• 5+ years of experience leading complex cloud initiatives, migrations, modernization efforts, and technical improvements
• 3+ years of experience providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with architects, cybersecurity teams, vendors, and business stakeholders
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Azure architecture, hybrid cloud, networking, compute, storage, security, and platform optimization
• Understanding of Infrastructure as Code, PowerShell, Azure CLI, CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and cloud engineering practices
• Understanding of Azure Well-Architected Framework, cloud standards, security controls, cost optimization, and operational excellence
