Meet Our Team

Due to the nature of the work, Canadian Citizenship is required. This is a remote role in Canada, Pacific Time Zone only.

As a member of the Cloud Operations team, you will be responsible for the reliability and availability of Pegasystems' cloud service offerings. We operate as a global follow-the-sun 24x7 team with locations in Bangalore, Sydney, and the East Coast of the United States. You will work on diverse problems, applying your expertise to improve the reliability of the Pega Cloud Platform. You will take ownership of the systems you manage, quickly diagnose issues, understand root causes, and prevent recurrence. Collaboration and communication with customers and internal stakeholders are key to providing top-tier support.

What You'll Do

  • Provision new environments and upgrade infrastructure components and applications
  • Decommission existing environments
  • Troubleshoot and resolve environment issues, perform root cause analysis
  • Create and maintain operational runbooks
  • Document standard operating procedures
  • Participate in testing pre-release product enhancements with Engineering
  • Identify automation opportunities to reduce manual tasks
  • Develop scripts to automate repetitive tasks
  • Coordinate deployment of system updates, patches, and hotfixes
  • Monitor ticket queues and distribute workload efficiently
  • Respond to escalations and communications promptly
  • Prepare handoff documentation for global teams
  • Support customers on a rotational on-call basis, including weekend shifts

What You've Accomplished

Skills and experience in Cloud, Linux, Middleware, and DevOps technologies, including:

  • 7+ years in operational or engineering roles with Java applications and Apache Tomcat
  • Extensive Linux administration experience
  • Operational experience with AWS and/or GCP
  • Understanding of cloud infrastructure, platform, and application management
  • Microservices architecture experience with Kubernetes (a plus)
  • Web server administration (Tomcat, Apache, IIS, Nginx)
  • Basic network troubleshooting skills (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN)
  • Scripting skills in Bash, Shell, Python, or similar (a plus)
  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field
  • Certifications like AWS, GCP, or Kubernetes (a plus)
