Senior Clinical Fellow - Virtual Ward

This role involves providing clinical input to manage patients on the Virtual Ward (VW) and shaping this innovative service's development. The North Middlesex VW has been active since 2022, with 32 main ward beds and 8 remote monitoring beds, supported by a multidisciplinary team. Expansion plans are underway for 2024/25.

Main Duties
  • Participate in a daily 2-hour multidisciplinary team (MDT) meeting.
  • Manage referrals, conduct post-admission reviews, and provide clinical advice/support to nurses and therapists.
  • Maintain high clinical standards and liaise with specialty teams for timely reviews.
  • Engage in service development, pathway review, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Build relationships within hospital, community, sector partners, and primary care to promote virtual ward development.
Working for Our Organisation

North Mid is part of the North Central London ICS, collaborating with NHS and local authority partners across Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield, and Haringey. We focus on shared decision-making and system-wide objectives.

We support staff training and are a teaching hospital for medical students from UCL and St George’s University Grenada, as well as nursing and midwifery students from Middlesex and City Universities.
