Job summary

Forward Insurance Managers Ltd. in Canada seeks a seasoned claims leader to manage complex high-value files and guide a growing claims function. You will exercise settlement authority, coordinate with adjusters and experts, and shape strategy across property and casualty lines.

You will mentor junior examiners and present outcomes to carriers and senior management, ensuring rigorous coverage analysis and compliant processes while driving performance and strategic impact.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive insurance claims experience in P&C handling complex/high-value files.
• CIP designation required; FCIP or similar designations are a strong asset.
• Deep expertise in coverage analysis, litigation management, and multi-party claims.
• Proven ability to mentor junior claims professionals.

Responsibilities

• Lead investigation and resolution of complex, high-value claims across P&C lines.
• Exercise expanded settlement authority and escalate judiciously.
• Direct and evaluate independent adjusters, counsel, and experts.
• Perform coverage analysis, liability assessments, and damage evaluations on high-exposure files.
• Oversee litigation strategy; attend mediations and trials as required.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior and intermediate examiners.
• Prepare detailed reports for carriers, senior management, and external stakeholders.
• Champion culture, values, and operational standards across claims activity.
