EXP in Brampton seeks an experienced Senior Civil / Structural Engineer for a flexible role involving engineering and design in the oil, gas, and chemical sectors. Responsibilities include designing retrofits for existing facilities and leading design teams for new greenfield projects, including permitting, civil, structural engineering, and construction.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

• Communicate effectively within the team and with clients.
• Ensure clear interpretation of communicated information.
• Collaborate across offices on large projects.
• Participate in internal meetings and coordinate project documentation.
• Seal and sign drawings.
• Handle projects of varying complexity, from design to execution.
• Design structural systems, exploring schematic and development options.
• Review project checklists and documentation progress.
• Oversee work of junior engineers.
• Prepare questionnaires and coordinate specifications.
• Understand project delivery methods and their impact on design.
• Manage design processes, deliverables, and budgets.
• Review financial aspects with project teams.
• Utilize finite element software and understand its principles.
• Alert management to potential work opportunities from clients.

What your experience looks like

• Minimum 10 years of civil/structural experience in oil, gas, and chemical facilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
• Registered P.Eng in Ontario.
• Familiarity with ASCE, IBC, NBCC, AISC, ACI, CSA, EN standards.
• Experience with software such as ETABS, STAAD, SAP2000, CADWorx, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and BlueBeam.
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
• Team-oriented, self-motivated, detail-focused, and client-centric.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills.
