Here's how a Senior Civil Project Managerfor our Torontooffice contributes to our team:

Responsibilities
  • Developing and implementing the project safety program. Creating and influencing a safety culture as a mentor and model.
  • Leading the pursuit of new work by participating in estimates, working with trad contractors, and participating in proposals and presentations.
  • Overseeing the development and implementation of the quality management plan and quality culture with stakeholder buy-in.
  • Understanding client drivers and offers value engineering proposals for functionality, cost, and schedule benefit.
  • Monitoring project performance status reports for safety, cost forecast, and schedule.
  • Identifying and managing risk and opportunities on construction projects.
  • Managing project team, client representative, consultant and trade contractor relationships.
  • Monitoring progress of the design, including compliance issues, quality, general coordination, constructability, and timing of deliverables.
  • Assisting the project team lead obtain a comprehensive design-management and design-quality plan and conduct periodic quality audits to ensure compliance.
  • Keeping all parties informed of potential opportunities and challenges, and managing stakeholders’ expectations through appropriate forms of communication.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Postsecondary education or training in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
  • 15+ years of progressive construction experience with multiple contract delivery types as a leader and mentor preferred.
  • Experience in estimating civil and infrastructure projects preferred
  • Experience managing civil-related structures and transit projects (Bus Rapid Transit, Light Rail Transit, and railways), stations, and facilities.
  • Design-build experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience implementing a strong safety culture by application of health, safety, and environment principles and legislation.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction industry including building materials, construction specifications, methods and procedures, construction law and building codes, and safety and quality management practices.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills including the ability to manage project budgets and schedules.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, project management and scheduling software, with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
