Job summary

The Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) is hiring a Senior Engineer, Roads and Bridges in Toronto to safeguard civil assets and support capital projects ensuring safe, efficient airport operations.

Ideal candidates are Professional Engineers with 10+ years in civil design/construction, strong reporting skills, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams in a high-stakes environment at an on-site location.

Qualifications

• P.Eng. designation required.
• Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering (or related field).
• Minimum 10 years of civil engineering design and construction experience.
• Ability to obtain Transportation Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventories of road, tunnel, bridge, and culvert assets.
• Conduct regular condition assessments to identify maintenance and repair needs.
• Develop and implement a long-term capital planning strategy for projects.
• Prepare Scopes of Work and RFPs to procure consulting services and define project requirements.
• Oversee design and construction of infrastructure in compliance with codes and GTAA requirements.
• Provide technical support to Operations, Maintenance, project managers and construction teams.
• Stay current with industry practices, codes and standards.
• Conduct R&D to identify innovative solutions.
• Analyze complex engineering problems and propose effective solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations and engineering.
• Liaise with regulators and contractors.
• Prepare clear and concise reports and presentations.
