Job summary

SENER, a global engineering firm, seeks a Senior Civil Engineer‑Rail (P.Eng.) to lead complex infrastructure projects in Ontario. You will direct civil design, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, and ensure compliance with local standards in a globally distributed environment.

The role requires extensive Ontario experience, a Professional Engineer license, and the ability to act as Engineer of Record where needed. Hybrid work with in-office collaboration is offered.

Qualifications

Our office in Toronto is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer‑Rail (rail) to join our Toronto team. This is a hybrid role with 3 days per week in office.

What will your duties be?

Position Overview:

Sener Engineering is seeking an experienced Civil Lead Engineer (P.Eng.) to provide technical leadership and oversight for major infrastructure projects within Ontario. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading civil engineering design activities, managing multidisciplinary coordination, ensuring compliance with local municipal and provincial standards, and overseeing engineering deliverables developed by both local and international design teams. This role requires a highly experienced professional with extensive knowledge of Ontario engineering practices, stakeholder management, and quality assurance processes.

Required Qualifications

Education & Professional Registration:

• Master or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario and in good standing with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
• Eligible to act as Engineer of Record (EOR) where required

Experience:

• Minimum 20+ years of progressive civil engineering experience
• Minimum 10 years in a leadership or design management role
• Extensive experience delivering infrastructure projects within Ontario
• Demonstrated experience working with public sector clients, municipalities, transit agencies, and utility stakeholders
• Experience managing globally distributed engineering teams is strongly preferred
