Job description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer - Airport Infrastructures for a full-time position. Reporting to the Airport department manager, the selected candidate will work on civil engineering projects related to airports primarily in Quebec but also across Canada. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team and will have the opportunity to participate in diverse projects supporting your professional development.

The position can be based out of any of our office locations and offers a hybrid work format to provide flexibility based on personal circumstances and location.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing airport-related projects
  • Performing engineering analyses, assessments, and studies
  • Designing infrastructure (calculations and sizing)
  • Supervising and preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates per client standards
  • Coordinating projects with other disciplines
  • Evaluating project feasibility
  • Participating in meetings, presenting issues and solutions
  • Providing design support, reviewing shop drawings, and attending construction meetings
  • Monitoring budgets and schedules
  • Occasionally writing service proposals
  • Supervising engineers-in-training, intermediate engineers, and technicians

Qualifications:

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Construction Engineering
  • At least 6 years of experience in airport engineering projects
  • Ability to communicate in French
  • Knowledge of Transport Canada's TP312 and ICAO standards
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or ability to obtain membership quickly

Preferred qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in airport engineering projects
  • Bilingual in English and French (written and spoken)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Completion of the ASP (Health and Safety on Construction Sites) course
  • Knowledge of pavement design and hydraulic modeling software
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within Quebec and Canada
  • Experience in airport infrastructure such as pavement design, airside planning, geotechnical investigations, and surface characterization
  • Experience working with clients like Transport Canada, PSPC, ADM Montreal Airports, Pearson Airport, etc.
  • Interest in BIM and GIS project environments
