AtkinsRéalis is a leading Canadian nuclear engineering group seeking a Senior Civil Designer to support nuclear projects in Ontario and internationally. The role emphasizes leadership in plot plan design and coordination across project teams.

You will guide 2D/3D CAD work, review deliverables for accuracy, manage scope changes, and mentor junior staff while collaborating with clients and internal teams.

Formación

• College diploma or equivalent with ≥9 years in mechanical design and drafting.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Raster Design, Plant 3D, Revit, and related tools.
• NBCC, CSA and ASME knowledge is an asset.
• Strong interpersonal, teamwork and independent work skills.

Job Description

CANDU Energy Inc./ AtkinsRéalis Nuclear Inc. is actively seeking a qualified Senior Civil Designer to support engineering roles for nuclear projects in major areas, such as, new build in the province of Ontario, international new builds, refurbishment, and continuous plant operation support modifications for nuclear power plants.

This position requires working on fast paced technically complex projects in the nuclear industries. Typical duties and essential functions will include but not be limited to the preparation, design, modification, coordination, and/or review of the following:

• Lead system‑level design of plot plans, plant and equipment layouts using 2D/3D CAD.
• Review design deliverables for accuracy and consistency.
• Identify design issues early and ensure work stays on schedule and within budget.
• Manage scope changes and collaborate with project teams to mitigate scope creep.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal teams, clients, and the technical community.
• Prepare CAD related procedures, as required
• Show strong leadership, communication, and project management capability.
• Recommend and implement process improvements where appropriate.
• Serve as a leader, reviewer, and resource for the work unit.
• Assign and outline work when needed and verify accuracy of outputs.
• Develop others’ technical and CAD skills through coaching and mentoring

About you:

• College diploma or equivalent work experience with a minimum of 9 years in mechanical design and drafting.
• Working knowledge in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Raster Design, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Revit, Smart Plant 3D/Smart. Micro Station, Navisworks Manage and Tekla.
• Ability to take marked up engineering drawings and incorporates changes into AutoCAD files.
• National Building Code of Canada (NBCC), Canadian Standards Association (CSA), ASME Code knowledge considered an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with staff in a team environment as well as independently.
