Job Details

This is a permanent, full-time position of 37 hours per week, with a shift pattern covering Monday to Sunday.

Department Overview

The QEUH Adult Theatre Recovery & Same Day Admission Units operate in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment supporting elective and emergency surgeries across multiple specialties, including General Surgery, Renal/Urology, ENT, Gynaecology, and Vascular. As the West of Scotland Major Trauma Centre, the unit provides specialized and complex patient care.

Role Responsibilities

• Coordinate staff across both recovery and Same Day Admission areas.
• Communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure efficiency and resource management without compromising patient care.
• Support theatre operations, ensuring they run efficiently with a focus on patient safety and governance.
• Provide leadership and specialist knowledge to maintain high standards of care and facilitate service development.
• Support and mentor junior staff and students, promoting ongoing training and adherence to standards such as the NES Recovery Competencies.
• Work collaboratively with senior theatre staff, including Lead Nurses, CSM, and GM, to maintain a cohesive management structure.
