CedarCreek Estate Winery, one of BC's pioneering wineries since 1987, is expanding its team to enhance the CedarCreek wine country experience. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Senior Catering Chef & Sous Chef for a hybrid culinary leadership role within our team. This position is vital for delivering exceptional dining experiences at our restaurant and during special events, ranging from large-scale banquets and concerts to weddings and private dinners. The role offers a pathway to more senior culinary leadership upon mastering current responsibilities.

Accountabilities & Impact:

  • Develop innovative, wine-friendly menus using local, seasonal ingredients.
  • Maintain high standards of presentation and quality across all dishes.
  • Apply advanced cooking techniques efficiently to ensure seamless service.
  • Manage inventory to ensure smooth kitchen operations and minimize waste.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop junior staff, fostering teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Source high-quality ingredients at competitive prices, maintaining cost control.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers for consistency and reliability.
  • Lead culinary aspects of special events, including menu development and execution within budget.
  • Assist the Executive Chef with administrative duties and paperwork.

Skills & Experiences Needed:

  • 10+ years of culinary experience, including 7 years in Mediterranean cuisine and 5 years in leadership roles, with wine country cuisine expertise.
  • Experience in high-quality dining environments is an asset.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Knowledge of local and global wines.
  • Adherence to high hygiene and safety standards.
  • Attention to detail, quality, and consistency.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
  • Food Safe Certification.
