Objective
The Senior Category Manager will lead all category management activities for the GoGo SqueeZ brand. You will develop data-driven category insights, optimize retail strategies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful results, playing a critical role in Bel's business success.
Additionally, you will work closely with retailers to shape the vision for the healthy snacking category, strengthening Bel's position as a trusted partner in category development.
Key Responsibilities :
- Category Leadership :
- Lead all category management activities for GoGo SqueeZ, ensuring alignment with Bel’s objectives and retailer goals.
- Interpret business data to develop actionable, fact-based recommendations supporting sales and profit objectives for Bel and retail partners.
- Retail Execution :
- Perform planogram analysis and provide recommendations to maximize Bel's shelf presence, along with tailored suggestions for optimal assortments.
- Analyze promotional activities and recommend the best promotional mix, efficiencies, and ROI strategies benefiting both Bel and retail partners.
- Progress Monitoring & Analytics :
- Track progress against retailer and Bel’s objectives, recommending actions to achieve goals.
- Develop KPI tracking reports and lead analytic tools to monitor performance.
- Leverage data sources like Nielsen, Numerator, IRI, Toolbox, LDIA, Retail Link for actionable insights.
- Collaboration & Business Partnership :
- Partner with Key Account Managers to align sales strategies and execution.
- Work with Revenue Growth Management (RGM) to evaluate promotion ROI and advise on promotional plans.
- Customize account/channel-specific sales presentations combining category insights with retailer strategies.
- Support the S&OP process with forecast data and identify growth opportunities through data analysis.
- Retailer Engagement :
- Prepare and present impactful business reviews with category recommendations to retailer teams and senior management.
- Establish Bel as a trusted partner in category development with retailers.
- Team Development & Leadership :
- Coach, supervise, and develop the Associate Category Manager, ensuring alignment with company objectives and brand strategies.
- Lead recruitment, evaluation, training, and development plans.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis and support to internal teams and senior management as needed.
Required skills and qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the CPG industry in a category management or related role.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or related field.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize information into insights.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Financial acumen, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective team player with cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Organized, able to manage deadlines and multitask effectively.
- Result-oriented with exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in manipulating sales data and analyzing data using Nielsen, IRI, LDIA, Retail Link, and other POS platforms.
- Proficient in MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of French is an asset.
- Occasional travel for meetings and training.
